CSEC’s Mission Statement

Every student, regardless of background or skill level, will achieve mastery and will demonstrate that they can succeed in high school, in college, and in their chosen career.
No exceptions. No excuses.

 

CSEC takes students where they are at, academically; gets them college-ready as quickly as possible; then provides college courses on the CSEC campus as part of students’ normal school day.  FREE.

 

The Early College model high school program provides students the opportunity to start working on college level courses as soon as they are ready, earning a combination of high school and college credits as they pursue a both a high school diploma and an Associate’s Degree or higher for FREE.

CSEC has adopted a Postsecondary and Workforce Readiness Guarantee in English, reading and  math for every student.  Upon graduation CSEC students will be ready to pursue their post-secondary goals without remediation. 

 

CSEC strives for each student to experience the following:

  1. Mastery of reading, writing and math skills with the goal of being ready to pursue college courses without remediation.       
  2. Access to college courses as a high school student with the opportunity to earn college credits and an Associate’s Degree or higher in addition to a high school diploma
  3. Academic advising services that include a Student Success Plan and both high school and post-secondary counseling.
  4. Success regardless of background, experience, gender or ethnicity.
  5. Appropriate assessments ensuring accurate placement, regardless of grade level, to promote academic progress. 
  6. Quality classroom instruction by engaged, committed faculty.

 

 

 

 

CSEC shares a campus with CTU and partners with CSEC to offer CTU college courses to CSEC students as part of  CSEC's normal school day.

         

  CSEC is authorized by Charter School Institute, a state-wide organization that acts somewhat like a school district.

           

Colorado League of Charter Schools supports CSEC with training and other services.
            

Many CSEC students attend off-campus classes at Pikes Peak Community Collegeand at University of Colorado at Colorado Springs
