Dropping/Withdrawal

Please remember that you MUST talk with your Academic Advisor first BEFORE you drop or withdrawal from a class to ensure that you do not fall behind in your graduation progress or that dropping a class places you below full time status.

What is the difference between dropping a class and withdrawing from a class? Dropping a class occurs within the first two weeks of the semester. The class does not appear on your transcript and you do not receive a grade. When you withdraw from a class, it usually happens later in the semester, you receive a grade of a "W" on your transcript, and you become financially responsible for the course. Please know the difference between these two very important terms! See your Academic Advisor if you have any questions or concerns.

Student Success Plan - SSP  (return to top)

As part of CSEC's commitment to our students, we have implemented a helpful tool called the Student Success Plan. It is used in discussion with students, parents/guardians and advisors to map out the student's path to success.

Student Success Plan

After High School... What's Next?  (return to top)

Many students tend to ask, "What's Next?" as they near the end of high school. We are committed to helping our students find what the "next" is for each of them. We have prepared several resources to help our students understand the options and processes for life after high school. Whether it be a four-year institution, two-year community/junior college, technical or vocational school, or military career, we will help our students reach their goals.

If you are looking for information on choosing the right college, applying to college, campus visit and interview, or writing application essays, please see the links below.

We want to help you reach your goals, please contact your advisor if you have any questions!

CSEC advisors have developed a year-by-year calendar to guide our students. It will be uploaded as soon as dates are finalized.

We also have developed "Considerations for the Job Seeker", which is a quick resource for students who may want to find a full-time job after high school graduation.

CSEC partners with PPCC to offer college courses to CSEC students as part of CSEC's normal school day.

CSEC is authorized by Charter School Institute, a state-wide organization that acts somewhat like a school district.

Colorado League of Charter Schools supports CSEC with training and other services.

Many CSEC students attend off-campus classes at Pikes Peak CC, Arapahoe CC, RedRocks CC, Community College of Aurora and University of Colorado Colorado Springs.
