Laura Deck - Advising Assistant/Enrichment Coordinator
Room:  432  Phone:  590-6814  Email:  laura.deck@csec914.org

Laura Deck is the Academic Advising Assistant at CSEC, as well as the Enrichment Coordinator.  She joined the CSEC team in January of 2012 and facilitated the growth of the Enrichment program, or lunchtime tutoring sessions, before being brought on to assist in the advising department in January 2013.  While growing up in Wisconsin, Laura privately tutored students for seven years and went on to become the coordinator for a tutoring program in college.  Laura has taught English just outside Seoul, South Korea, and completed an extended graduate program where she finished the student-teaching portion of her coursework in New Zealand at Manukorihi Intermediate School on the North Island.  Laura then earned her BA from Indiana University (go Hoosiers!) in Secondary English Education, and has a great love for teaching and mentoring youth.

Laura spent the last 10 years on South Padre Island, Texas, where she pursued another branch of her passions, health/wellness/food, and managed her family’s natural food store & restaurant.  When she and her family moved to Colorado, she felt it was time to re-emerge back into the school environment; hello CSEC!

Laura has been married to her husband Josh for 7 years, and together they dote on their lively, sweet, adventurous four-year-old son, Elijah.  As a family they love creating in the kitchen together and exploring Colorado & beyond whenever possible!
